The Aeolian Islands are a UNESCO-listed archipelago where myth and nature feel inseparable. Seven volcanic islands rise from the Tyrrhenian Sea, each with its own mood, colors, and rhythm. Lipari and Vulcano offer the most complete introduction in one day. Lipari, the largest island, is also the most complex from a geo-volcanological point of view, with a historic center shaped around its natural fortress. Then, you explore the highlights: the Castle area, the Cathedral of Saint Bartholomew, and the Aeolian Archaeological Museum, where the islands’ long history becomes clear and tangible. Afterwards, Vulcano adds a wilder note—black sand, steaming landscapes, and the unmistakable scent of the earth, creating a beautiful contrast to Lipari’s elegance.

Stromboli is the island for true romantics and adventurers. It is an active volcano, known for its constant eruptions and for centuries called the “night lighthouse” of the Tyrrhenian Sea. As a result, even from the water, the island feels powerful and unforgettable. Alla struttura urbana fa da centina il Castello, zoccolo riolitico che è un’esemplare fortezza naturale. The moral caprice of the immortal Aeolus who wished to create islands from four elements: air, water, earth and fire. The God of all winds granted to locals the talent to predict weather, storms and wind directions. There are seven islands though the wind directions are eight, the last one is kept in magic reliquary in the depth of the Tyrrhenian Sea. The biggest island is Lipari, offering plenty of comfort, space, history and culture, inhabited since the Early Bronze Period, it maintains the ancient traditions of pumice and obsidian handcraft. The vegetation covers the Aeolian land with multi-coloured carpets: grapes, olives, pulses, vegetables built up in widespread terraces, it’s an evidence of great human work for thousands of years. The volcano Stromboli with its spa waters, mud baths, lava flows remind us that all is not dormant underground. One-day excursion there is an anti-stress refuge with an uncontaminated environment and the sweet amber flavour of Lipari Malvasia.
